We're thrilled to offer our first foray into programming beyond our usual Jam Bands-style camps and academies!
Summer Songwriting is a 2-month program, taught by UJB instructor Devin Moore, and featuring weekly classes that will teach participants the basics of songwriting and help them write a song, learn to collaborate with a band of professional musicians, and perform their songs live at a showcase concert. This program is geared toward the individual songwriter who wants to develop their skills and showcase their art.
Schedule + Content
Week 1: Intro
Week 2: Melody
Week 3: Lyrics
Week 4: Song form
Week 5: Guest Clinician
Week 6: Writing Lab
Week 7: Song Workshop with Band
Week 8: Dress Rehearsal + Showcase
*Please note that we have a set minimum number of registered students we will need to make the academy program feasible. In the event that not enough students register, we will refund any registration fees and cancel the program. (Think a Kickstarter model.)
Additionally, Summer Songwriting is a pilot program. Participants will be asked to give feedback, and we'll likely make adjustments that will apply future songwriting programming. Thanks for your help creating something cool and new!
